Does Washington have a recreational use program?

Yes, recreational use is legal in Washington. On December 6, 2012, Initiative 502, the Washington Marijuana Legalization and Regulation Initiative, became law.

It became legal to grow, own, deliver, and sell marijuana in Washington after the bill was passed. It also made it legal for people aged 21 and up to buy certain amounts of cannabis products for their private use.

 

Does Washington have a medical program?

Yes, medical cannabis is legal in Washington. It became allowed to use medical marijuana in 1998 when the Medical Use of Marijuana Act was signed into law.

The Act let people with serious medical conditions use marijuana as a treatment and gave those patients and their caretakers legal rights in the state. In Washington, signing up for the state’s medical marijuana program is entirely optional.

 

What are the rules for medical use?

The Department of Health is in charge of the medical marijuana program in the state. Residents of Washington who have been labeled with certain qualifying medical conditions and have medical marijuana certifications from their doctors can use medical marijuana.

Patients in Washington who are eligible for medical marijuana are unable to apply for cards online. To get their medical identification cards, patients must first get permission to use medical marijuana and then meet with certified medical cannabis consultants in shops that have been approved by medical professionals. Medical marijuana cards in Washington can only be obtained by people who live in the state.

Adult patients (18 years or older) who want to buy medical marijuana only need to show their medical marijuana authorizations and legal ID cards. They don’t have to register in the Washington medical marijuana database or get medical marijuana cards. To buy medical marijuana from stores in Washington that are approved by doctors, caregivers for minor patients must show valid ID cards, a medical marijuana card, and two medical marijuana authorizations (one for the patient and one for the caretaker).

Doctors can let patients of any age use medical marijuana as long as they have one of the allowed conditions. Minors must choose providers who agree to help them get medical marijuana and give it to them. People who take care of young patients must be their parents or legal guardians.

What are the medical program limits?

People who are registered to use medical marijuana can have up to 3 ounces of marijuana, 48 ounces of solid-infused medical marijuana products, 1.69 gallons of liquid-infused medical marijuana products, and 21 grams of thick medical marijuana concentrate.

 

What methods of use are permitted under the medical program?

Flowers, vape, concentrates, and edibles are permitted to be sold in Washington State.

 

Is there home delivery for medical cannabis?

No. In all of its regions. the State of Washington does not allow the delivery of medical or recreational marijuana.

 

Is CBD legal in Washington?

Yes, CBD is legal in Washington. Regardless of where it comes from, CBD oil is allowed in Washington. CBD oil made from both marijuana and hemp can be bought and used in Washington.

 

Is cannabis decriminalized in Washington?

Adults in Washington who are at least 21 years old can have up to 1 ounce (28.35 grams) of marijuana for personal use. More than 1 ounce of marijuana, but less than 40 grams, is a misdemeanor that can get you a $1,000 fine and 24 hours to 90 days in jail.

In Washington, it is a crime to have more than 40 grams of cannabis on you. You could get a $10,000 fine or 5 years in prison. Medical marijuana users are allowed to have up to 3 ounces (85 grams) of cannabis, but they need to be able to show proof that they are registered.
