What are the medical program limits?

Adults who are registered in CNMI can usually grow up to six grown plants and 12 young plants per home or worksite. Patients and their caretakers can grow more than these limits if their doctor says that more is needed for effective treatment.

In this case, each home can have up to 12 mature plants and 24 young plants. Eight ounces of marijuana is the most that any person can have in their home or place of growing at any given time. Cannabis plants must not be obvious to the public and reasonable steps must be taken to keep minors from getting to them. Growing places can be farms, parcels, warehouses, rooms, or containers.

People who violate these rules will be punished. For a first crime, you will be fined $100. For a second offense, your plants will be taken away and you will be fined $500. If someone violates the law again, they could spend up to 30 days in jail, pay a fine of up to $1,000, and lose their home growing card.
