No, Liechtenstein does not have a recreational use program and prohibits the use of cannabis recreationally. Drug use, possession, sale, distribution, cultivation, and trafficking are all covered by this regulation.

Yes, medical cannabis is legal in Liechtenstein. 

 

What are the rules for medical use?

In Liechtenstein, there are just two cannabis medications available for medical use: Sativex and Epidiolex.

They can only be obtained with a prescription. Possession or usage of marijuana for anything other than medical purposes would be considered a recreational violation.

 

What are the qualifying medical conditions for eligibility?

Patients may qualify for a prescription for medical marijuana if they have certain medical conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, or chronic pain.

Liechtenstein has only limited medical cannabis. You will not be able to get any medicinal cannabis products if you do not meet one of the conditions listed above.

Is CBD legal in Liechtenstein?

There is a legal gray area around CBD. Although there isn’t a precise rule or regulation against it, industrial hemp has been prohibited in Liechtenstein since 2005. In theory, CBD products with less than 1% THC might be accepted as legal as the country views any substance containing more than 1% THC as cannabis.

Since Liechtenstein is not a member of the EU, it is not required to abide by the 2020 EU Court decision that declared CBD and related products to be non-narcotics.
