Does Germany have a recreational use program?
Yes, the German parliament has recently given its approval to a new bill that would make it legal to use cannabis for recreational purposes. Beginning on April 1, 2024, smoking cannabis in the majority of public places will be allowed.
The law will allow people in Germany who are above the age of 18 to possess significant quantities of cannabis; yet, as a result of the stringent regulations, it might be difficult to purchase the drug.
Does Germany have a medical program?
Yes, medical cannabis is legal in Germany. The German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices took a revolutionary move by authorizing the use of cannabis for medical purposes in 2007.
What are the rules for medical use?
To be authorized to use medical marijuana in Germany, individuals need a doctor’s prescription.
Marijuana is typically given for serious conditions for whom no other therapeutic options are available and when prior results indicate that the treatment will likely be successful.
The only forms of the prescription are dried flowers or extracts. Health insurance will cover the expense of cannabis therapy if the patient fulfills the requirements.
What are the qualifying medical conditions for eligibility?
The law made it possible for people to get cannabis to treat symptoms of cancer, multiple sclerosis, and chronic pain.
What are the medical program limits?
No MMJ card system is in place in Germany. But within 30 days, a doctor can only recommend up to 100,000 milligrams of cannabis to a patient.

Is CBD legal in Germany?

Is cannabis decriminalized in Germany?
Because of the recent legalization of recreational cannabis, people will be able to carry up to 25g in public places. It will be illegal to have more than 50g in private homes.
Not-for-profit member groups called “cannabis social clubs” will grow and sell limited quantities of cannabis to members. There will be a cap of 500 members in each club, and people from Germany will be the only ones who can join the clubs. Cannabis use will not be allowed inside these clubs.
There will also be the option to grow your own cannabis, with each home being permitted to have up to three plants.
