Yes, medical cannabis is legal in Croatia. The Ministry of Health formally authorized the use of cannabis-based medications for medicinal purposes on October 15, 2015, for patients suffering from conditions like AIDS, multiple sclerosis, and cancer.

 

What are the rules for medical use?

Due to strict laws surrounding medical marijuana, Croatia does not accept MMJ cards. For medical cannabis products, such as pills, lotions, or beverages, a prescription is required.

Your doctor might be authorized to write a 30-day prescription for a maximum dose of 7.5 g of THC if you have a recognized medical condition.

 

What are the qualifying medical conditions for eligibility?

In Croatia, medical cannabis products are currently limited to individuals who has the following conditions:

Yes, cannabis is decriminalized in Croatia. Legally speaking, cultivating or selling cannabis is a felony that carries a mandatory minimum three-year prison sentence. Since 2013, possessing small amounts of marijuana and other mild narcotics is considered a minor offense, punishable by fines ranging from US$750 to US$3000, depending on the circumstances.
