Yes, medical cannabis is legal in Belgium. But instead of using the dry version of cannabis, prescription medications frequently contain derivatives.

 

What are the rules for medical use?

There is no requirement to use medical marijuana cards in Belgium. Doctors are the only allowed individuals to prescribe legally authorized medical cannabis in Belgium.

With a valid prescription, pharmacists are permitted to dispense cannabis-based medications. Two cannabis-based medications are now approved in Belgium: Sativex® and Epidyolex® .

 

What are the qualifying medical conditions for eligibility?

Yes, CBD is legal in Belgium as long as its THC content is below 0.2%.

 

Is cannabis decriminalized in Belgium?

Yes, cannabis is decriminalized in Belgium. Cannabis cultivation and personal possession are not illegal in Belgium. Cannabis possession of up to 3 grams has been allowed for adults since 2003. However, finding more than three grams of marijuana on you can get you a $200 fine.
